Our story
It started with a cooking show.
WineMasters was founded in 2017 by Klaas de Jong, a feature film producer from the Netherlands, a wine geek and a keen home cook. Watching Netflix's Chef's Table, he saw how a cinematic approach could turn food into something you feel as much as understand. Wine, he thought, deserved the same.
That idea became the WineMasters documentary series: seasons on the classic regions of Europe, told by the families who make the wine and guided by Masters of Wine. The series found its audience on Apple TV, Amazon Prime Video and Google Play, where it is still available in many countries, alongside the documentary The Most Expensive Wine in the World.
In 2019 we broadened our scope and launched our own streaming channel, WineMasters.TV, so that everything we make could live in one place: documentaries, a full wine course, wine science and food pairing.
Wine deserves to be filmed the way great chefs are: with time, light and sound, and with the people who make it.The idea behind WineMasters
