About the Wine Scholar Guild

Specialist wine certifications

The Wine Scholar Guild offers in-depth study programs that go region by region: French, Italian, Spanish and German Wine Scholar®, followed by Master-Level courses in Bourgogne, Champagne and Bordeaux.

Their programs are taught by expert educators through course providers around the world, for students who want to go deeper than a general wine qualification.

How we work together

  • Grand Cru on video. Our WineMasters Class Grand Cru series covers Pauillac, Margaux, Saint-Émilion, Pomerol, Graves, Sauternes and Champagne, a natural companion to the Master-Level programs.
  • Region by region. Like the Wine Scholar Guild, we teach one region at a time, with the terroir, grapes and producers that define it.
  • Recommended in our guides. Our free study articles point serious students to the Wine Scholar Guild as a next step.

“Read about Pomerol’s blue clay, then watch the people who farm it. That is when a region really starts to make sense.”
