About the Institute

The Master of Wine title

Founded in London in 1955, the Institute of Masters of Wine promotes excellence, interaction and learning across the global wine community. Masters of Wine have passed an examination that combines theory, blind tasting and a research paper.

The Institute runs the MW study programme for wine professionals around the world, and its members work in every corner of the wine trade, from winemaking and buying to writing and education.

How we work together

Additional study material. WineMasters.TV is offered to the IMW community as extra study material: the regions, grapes and producers of the syllabus, filmed on location.
Masters of Wine on screen. Our series are presented by Masters of Wine, from WineMasters Class to The Wild Side of Wine.
Tasting on video. WineMasters Class includes 96 blind tastings and 96 food pairings across 48 episodes.
